Since we dont have a fishing section, I thought this would be appropriate to post here.  A few days ago I ventured into the Monongahelia National Forest with a good friend and hiked up a trailhead and fished the stream that paralleled it.  Its got a good population of brook trout and some were willing.  The weather has been really nice, but not much of the foliage has came out yet.  In a few weeks the ramps will be really starting to pop out above the leaf litter.  A few weeks after that the muggins(morel mushrooms) will be starting.  All of these fish I caught on my 6 foot bamboo fly rod that is made just for these guys.

Sweet!  I love mountain streams and brookies on flies.

Beautiful stream there Ben.  I'm trying to do the exact same thing with the flies I got from you.  Maybe I will be able to get caught up on orders and have time to wet some flies before turkey season starts.

Those Brookies are beautiful, we have an abundance of them around here too

That top one looke like a wild brown trout to me though

There is nothing better than a pan of fresh fried brookies. Throw in a handful of morels and it's a meal fit for a King! Nice job!!
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?
If attacked by a mob of clowns, go for the juggler.

That is beautiful.  Spring is such a wonderful time of year.  Thanks for sharing and making me think of past memories and dream of future ones.

I love flyfishing for those little gems here in NC Pennsylvania. I fished the other day in a local C&R wild trout stream and caught 8 native brookies and one wild brown. They are BOTH brookies in the photos. Flyfishing for trout is as much fun as turkey hunting but let's not spread that around!
Deer see you and think you are a stump. The Old Gobbler sees a stump and thinks it is YOU!

Man I love that, living here in Indiana, not too many trout, My uncle and I would drive to PA to fish Titusville and fish oil creek, Prather, and alot of others streams,  fished many a creek that was C&R and no barbs, If you never fly fished it's alot of fun, thanks for the pictures, My uncle passed away a couple of years ago, haven't had the fly rod out since, so much fun
