Hey guys!  Looks like we have finally been put on our own individual board.  We have 2 slots that are open with one invitation still out.  I am giving that individual until the end of the week to respond and if they do not then we will move on.  There other open slot is there in case one of the members last year that has yet to contact me does by the end of the week.

JVA54 and myself are going to be the captains of the team.  If you have any questions or need help with anything (posting pictures, scoring, proper way to measure, etc.) then get in contact with either one of us.

Things that you will need for the contest are a camera, phone pictures are fine as long as they are clear and can be easily seen, for the pictures, a tape measure to measure spur and beard length, and finally a weight scale.

Inexpensive weight Scales:
Digital - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mustad-50-lb-Digital-Scale/16563479?findingMethod=rr
Mechanical - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Berkley-Scale-with-Tape/16637411

I ask that everyone takes a quick second and go to the main contest thread page and look over the contest rules ( http://oldgobbler.com/Forum/index.php/topic,15401.0.html ) and take a look at the Gobblermatic scoring thread ( http://oldgobbler.com/Forum/index.php/topic,3706.0.html ).  If you have a droid ran phone system then there was a app posted last year in which you can use on the phone to figure your score also.  I will find that link and post it.

Last year we put this team together kind of quickly and did not have all the participation needed to be competitive in the contest, but this year I think we have the hunters that first place is no where close to being out of the question.  Let's all have some fun and enjoy the sport that we love so much.  It won't be long before we can do some spur collecting and tag them one at a time!  Good luck and glad to have everyone!

Here is Team Spur Collectors Official Entry Thread for the Contest from last year with more examples of how the picture should be taken and what should be posted.  Thanks!

Pics are the most important part of the contest, clear pics of the spurs, beard, score sheet, and the bird on a scales was the hard part of the contest for me, killing the turkey was a lot easier. Without the right pics they will disqualified your bird!

Thanks already for putting the time into this captains! I'm really excited and glad to be on the team! I'm just hoping I can pull my part this year and knock a few down!
