We're planning a Cruise and wanted to go somewhere we have never been. Anyone have any experience at either of these ports?

Cain't speak for the first 2 but i have spent some time in and around Belize. The ocean is great and did quite a bit of snorkeling in and around there. Loved it as well as watching my daughters swim around the small island reef areas. The city itself wasn't that great, dirty and seemed that the people there were barely getting by, six years ago and things can change alot in that time span. The monkeys in the city were a hoot. If the cruise offers a snorkel trip i would recommend that you try it......

Belize is a great place to visit. I spent a week there several years ago scuba diving--the best diving I have experienced so far in all of the Caribbean.( I almost died there at 90 feet when I stuck in a cave like tunnel---but that is another story) However, don't forget it is a third world country--lots of poverty and to some degree--crime. Stick to the main spots and don't get adventuresome and go exploring into the interior and you will be alright. Like somebody said--bring your mask, flippers and snorkel.  Here is a tip--bring along a can of Cheese Whiz when you go snorkeling--the fish will materail out of everywhere and will put on quite a show.

Thanks, We plan on going in January when everyone else is enduring winter  ;D ...I hate cold weather.

Belize sounds like most of the Caribbean ports...We plan on staying on well traveled/tourist locations. Nothing too out of the ordinary.  The only Caribbean Island I have ever felt safe on(well at least as safe as an unarmed man can feel) is on Grand Cayman.  Love that place, but want to see something different.
