I'm using a Bushnell Trophy Cam, Set it to Time Lapse and position on a big oak tree (I use a 10' long ratchet tie down to secure) so I can see where the turkeys are coming out.  I set it to take a shot every 5 Min so I can see where and when the turkeys are coming out of the woods and where they go.

Last fall in doing this just set-up and they walked out like clockwork and walked home 1 less turkey.  The motion trigger is almost of no value for this setup, until they come down by the tree, but with Time Lapse mode will trigger on a start and end time I enter and the # of min when I set it up. I can even tell it to take 1 2 or 3 pics and tell it how much delay between.  I run a very large memory card and use Sony eneloop low discharge rate batteries with a bc-700 LaCrosse charger up front cost, but WOW does it work good even in our freezing weather in WI Deer / Winter Turkey season.

Use for Deer and Turkey scouting and has been VERY helpful as I have very limited time I can hunt.  Kids LOVE watching the pics and last fall caught the old boy buck fighting with one of the bucks I ended up shooting this past season.  I had it set to take 3 shots each time and with a quick re-trigger made it look like a old time movie watching the fight... Then he walked right by the cam and didn't move to get a nice shot of him.  Saw him night before opening... But no reports of anyone shooting him.

Anyone else using similar time lapse cams and do you also find it as valuable for scouting?  I live 1 hr away from the farm so this helps me see what is going on.

Good luck everyone who's season just started....  Very warm here in WI but April 11 is our opener.

Keep warm!      :fire:
