I was my Local Dunham's the other day checking out the ammo(I do this at any place that has ammo, I'm like a woman in a shoe store). They had a small supply of turkey rounds, and as i was looking, one box stuck out to me. It was a Win XX box(12ga, 5 shot), but it wasn't the usual black boxes you see now. It was a light colored box with some camo on it. It's $12.99 for the 10 rounds, which is about $8 cheaper than the black boxes here. I thought about getting it, but i figured i would ask you guys here at OG. I don't NEED the ammo, but i know red shells are getting hard to find, so i am tempted.  Here's the box(stole the picture from GOLD HUNTER cuz i couldn't find a picture online)

Is it the green box with the universal camo, or the grey one with the old Trebark pattern.  Either way, those are fun to have, and as far as I know, they're the same shell sold as the Double X's today.  I think the green, universal camo ones are actually a little older.  Their 3" load contained 1 7/8oz of shot.  The Trebark version used 2oz.

Same ammo just really old boxes, that is a good price though.

That reminds me.  Dunhams is funny.  A couple of years ago, I went to the one we have here in Des Moines, and they had Federal turkey loads in French...metric measurements and everything.  I was going to buy them for the novelty of it, but they had FCW's and were expensive.

Cool!  I have a few of those old boxes left.  The funny part is that the 3" Trebark box is marked $7.99, and I remember that being expensive when I bought 'em.  The older 2 3/4" box is marked $4.05.   :D

FttFttVroom!

That is one ugly turkey on the older box......the newer one looks much better :funnyturkey:
