1 Corinthians 9:24....Know you not that they which run in a race run all, but one receives the prize? So run, that you may obtain.
Ok you got me.........I love my Nascar and my XBox360 Racing Games...call it what you will, but it is a vice I have....one thing it does, it reminds me that I too, am running a race to the finish.....a race that I hope many are running. Here is the kicker, only place that counts in this race is first........no second place finishes here....
The writer of Corintihans knew all to well the hazards of racing, the times of stumbling, tripping and falling would be frequent to those who are new to the race, I myself, have stun, but each time I reached heavenly for the Right Hand of God, and each time He lifted me up, dusted me off, and sennt me on my way again...and the prize is well worth the effort...
Philippians 3:14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. What better prize could there possibly be? To race my way to the glories of heaven, to rest securely in the arms of my Savior and loved ones who have gone on before....Glory to God! And as with all races there has to be Sponsors, mine is Christ Jesus...never turning His back on me no matter how many times I may fall along the way as long as I continue to reach up after each fall.
Ever notice the look of those race car drivers after driving 500 miles? They look so worn down, so tired, especially those who have not come in first, those who have trailed, trying hard to win, but for some reason this wasn't their time to win? The secret is to keep trying....keep racing, keep fighting with all you got, until one day you can be heard saying.....I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith, (2 Timothy 4:7) Whether it is Nascar, Indy, or Real Life.....the race will be ran, the key is to run with all your heart and soul, never give up, keeping your eye on the prize, knowing your sponsor and run ... run ... run.....God Bless, Pappy
