from my hunting experience, i have never seen a bird in a field except from when i am driving home, killed 5 in the woods,,,

Same here... something about a gobbler with hens out in a field and not moving a inch gets to me. So I try to stay in the woods where i cant see as far.

about 50/50 I would guess. I rather have them in the woods or small fields.

I only have 1 field bird.  The others are woods birds.  My future hunts will probably all be big woods birds too.  So 12% fields and 88% woods for me.

Thats me. I don't have the patients to wait on a turkey I can see. I will bump him everytime trying to put the Big Indian sneak on him

I've shot at least 10 on the edges of fields.  Most were called "out" of the woods.

I can remember two in particular that I shot in the woods.  One was a triple bearded bird (my best ever) and one in the woods last spring.

bought 50/50 for me but man i hate a field bird! i would pick woods any day of the week if i had a choice but sometimes you gotta take what you can get lol
