Gold Hunter posted some pics today of some old school Federal 3" 2oz #6s. The good'uns. Funny how a song or for me ammo, can bring back memories of another time in your life. Ammo of all things.Hmmm
Reminded me of a simpler time in my life. I was about 16, just got into turkey hunting, and had a hot rod Chevy. I lived to cruise around town looking cool and looking for girls. No real responsibilities. Worried more about gas money and ammo, and getting to school on time after chasing gobblers.
Had an 870 remington and dad had a 835 Mossberg blued with a woodstock. Took me 3 to 4 weeks to kill a bird, but oh what a sense of accomplishment. I can honestly say it was one of the happiest times of my life.
I dont know if there is a take home point to my idel banter, i just started typing. However, I sure am thankful my father took me hunting early and often. I gained respect for Gods creations, learned patience, hardwork, sacrifice, and that we live in the greatest country in the World.
Take a kid hunting this year.
