Hickory, cherry, purpleheart, yellowheart, laminate, carbon, acrylic etc. (synthetic).

I was playing around with a persimmon striker at a show yesterday and it was pretty awesome, also messed with an Osage Orange one that was good, too.
That being said, there is just something about a good hickory striker . . .

My matched strikers ended up -
Purpleheart and yellowheart on the glass
Birdseye maple and persimmons on the slate

i like a 2 piece striker with a light top...for slate i like bocote,ipe,cherry and poplar....for glass bocote,bloodwood,Brazilian rosewood,ebony...to many to list but i tote about 20 strikers in my vest
