I have always shot Lead loads, but this hevi shot stuff has me interested. I shoot an H&R 12 ga 3 inch gun with a Tru glo Baneser 665 choke tube.

Question is will the Federal HTL 7 shot work well out of this set up ? Or which store bought load would you guys shoot ?

Ben.

I have a Bansner .665 in a 870 sps-t and it loves the #7 Hevis.

i cant in good conscience recommend any other shell but the hevi 3-2-7, with this shell there is no need to waste tons of money on chokes anymore because it will shoot better than most shells in just about any turkey choke on the market

+4 on the Hevi-13 #7's

Try em and see for yourself.   :z-paddy-smiley113:

On another forum the is a pic of some heavy 13 shot a guy took out of a shell. They sure don't look very uniform. A lot of pellets stuck together and with craters in them.

I was considering the Federal hwt number 7.

Probably just stick with good ol number 5 lead shot.

Don't let the odd shape pellets fool you into thinking they just can' fly true or penetrate as good.  I'm here to tell you that they will pattern great and penetrate like crazy.

I used Hevis for the first time last year and most people say dead is dead and to a certain extent I agree.  But I've never shot a turkey with lead that acted the way the birds I shot last year acted.  I would say there's a difference between dead and stone cold dead.  Hevis give you stone cold.  Last year I shot the 6s and the Magblends.  I stayed with the 6s because my gun gave better patterns with them.  Gonna try the 7s this year just so I can see for myself what all the fuss is about.
Turkeys are as smart as hunters make em and public land offers more classes.
George Washington didn't use his freedom of speech to defeat the British, he shot them.
