835 recoil pad question

Hi,

I just purchased a new 835 with a 20" barrel.  I'm considering a new recoil pad for it. Do the slip on pads go over the existing pad, and thus provide more cushion or am I better off installing a regular pad?  Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I'd just go with a sims precision fit.  The lop is already long on the 835 and a slip on pad over the factory pad would be pretty long indeed.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind te most.

X2!  The Limbsaver does a great job and does not mess with length of pull.

The standard slip-on Limbsaver pad add 1" to LOP. If that's too much you can remove the existing pad and just use the slip-on and have the same LOP. It works very well.

If you need more LOP there is a 1/2" slip-on pad as well.

Thanks,

P.S. A slip-on Shooter's Friend recoil pad adds 1/4" to the LOP and easily goes over the existing pad. It's good for bench work and hunting as well.

I can't speak for the slip on version but I'm happy with my Limbsaver replacement pad on my 835.  It helps call her down but she still kicks like a mule!

Me too.  I like the clean fit of the precision fit.  Everybit helps on an 835.
