Crutch

Yep, then you would regret not making that decision.

If I was going to try to take him, which I probably wouldn't because I can take bird on other locations, I would fatten him up with loads of corn, wheat and maybe millet and top it off with some black oil sunflower seeds.

I build houses for a living. Some of the best turkey hunting I have done is on the back side of some of our development....wait I take that back. The best was on the 7th green of a golf club in Hilton Head area.

I'm gona be honest with you on this one, I wouldn't shoot that turkey. I would get more out of it seeing him everyday. Thats like shooting the company watch dog.............JM

x 2.....along with that 180'' long buck in the back yard.......what has happened to the definition of the term ''hunting''

Whatever  ::) this wasn't meant to turn into a ethics debate.  It was meant to discuss something out of the ordinary.

Green Buff, If I were you I'd hunt him in a heart beat. If you really want to look at him everyday have him mounted. I say go for it.

Quote from: Green Buffalo on February 24, 2011, 05:37:49 PMHowever the idea that a bird killed in suburban woods is easier is ridicules.
Wasn't meaning it was easier to kill. Just saying that knowing where he roosts every night and the path he takes to head to the woods definitely gives a guy an advantage. Not commenting on ethics, because there would be absolutely nothing unethical about hunting him. Best of luck in whatever you choose to do. :anim_25:

No problem.  I understand what you are saying about this particular bird however I will be hunting other birds in "small woods".  I would rather hunt birds in small woods than not hunt at all.  If I only hunted the big woods near my home I would only be able to hunt one day a week.

Best of luck this season!! Hope to see your smiling face behind some birds here on OG. :anim_25:
