Aluminum Pot.

Pappys beautiful aluminum striker got me to wondering. Can a pot be turned out of aluminum? I know the surface board and soundboard can be,but what about the pot itself ? Or maybe even a copper pot ?

Yes it can be done either by stamping the metal to pot form, welding certain components or turning out of solid stock which would be more affordable on the Aluminum. A solid piece of copper turned out would be...well not what most would want to pay. that being said anything can be done one way or the other.

a copper pot over time, would probably discolor very badly from the oils in your hands. being a plumber I have seen this happen a lot.

not to mention a 7/8x4x4 piece of copper would be very expensive

I have one of Wayne Carlton's "Copper Pot" calls before he sold the rights to HS. Strut. Real high  raspy pitch. I have had gobblers answer that call more than once when nothing else would work.
