For 10" numbers with hevi 7's, the JH .660 is a proven choke with the 870.  For uniformity, a custom built PG. 665 or standard PG .670 for the 870 has been excellent for me.

Last season by best 10" pattern was 273 with the JH .660 and 26" bbl.

That is an awesome pattern.  Unreal for 1 3/4 oz 6s
People who don't get it, don't get that they don't get it.

I posted it last year when I shot it. I shot another one before that and got 174. I think that was pre-polish though and 214 was after polish.  Not bad for a 21" barrel but I don't think it's a record by no means.

Yes, 40 yards 10" circle

Not bad for a $15 choke and a $25 box of shells through a 15 year old 870. I'm pleased  :z-guntootsmiley:

I forgot too mention I was shooting Hevi 13 #6 loads not the Hevi #7 loads. I think the .665 would work with the Hevi 13 #7's. But some have had better patterns with .670 chokes for the Hevi13 #7 loads.

I like the Indian Creek .665 in my 21" barreled Remington 1187. I am avg. 206 pellets on the 10" circle at forty yards. The pattern is even and consistent. If the  Indian Creek .665 is too tight in your 21" barreled remy you could go with Indian Creek .670 or the Pure Gold .670.

The Jellyhead chokes has longer extended section than the tightwad choke.

I have a IC BDS .665 in my supermag that I will try also. I haver never shot a Jelleyhead but have shot several tightwads and have been pleasantly surprised.  Is there that big of a difference between the JH and tightwad?
