I got to work at 0445 this morning and left at 0500 to drive to Grand Junction for a CDOT training class on administering Federally funded projects (really exiting stuff). When we left the office it had just started to snow. We whiteknuckled it through a white out in Glenwood Canyon and debated turning back, but it improved slightly once out of the Canyon so we kept moving west. We made it back to Avon by 1:45 and found that between 5 am and 1pm it had snowed between 10 and 12 inches of wet heavy snow in the valley. I'm not sure what it did on the mountain.
This is a photo I just took at 3:45 of what my truck looks like here in the parking lot. Its warm, so the snow has already melted some.
