Welcome to nature fellas.  It appears to me that the buck was potentially wounded or sick, maybe an errant shot with a bow or something to weaken the animal.
I can tell you this, nature is rough.  You can shoot all the coyotes that can be called in and bated, and this will still happen on a daily basis throughout the country.  No matter what you do, nature will always be there and natural selection will reign, it cannot be stopped.  It isn't easy to watch but it is an important lesson to hunters.  Make good clean kill shots, do a good job tracking if necessary, and recover the animal.  Wounded and weakened animals are easy pray for coyotes, even a mature buck like this.
I can promise that this sort of predator related death has been going on long before any of us got here and it will continue long after we are gone.
then why did pa game commission introduce fishers!!!sorry, we did not need them animals here!!!!what was there purpose?yes nature is rough.but why introduce a killer.

The PGC didn't introduce fishers to Pa. They re-introduced fishers. Fishers are an indiginous species that disappeared in the late 1800's due to deforestation and unregulated trapping. My understanding is that they are one of the only predators that can kill and eat a porcupine.

It is part of nature for sure, but in my part of the world there are more coyotes now than ever in my lifetime. I shoot every one I see even if it means ruining a deer or turkey hunt. The same goes for bobcats.

I agree that coyotes need to be shot.  There are coyotes everywhere mainly due to a lack of trapping.  It is politically incorrect to wear fur, thus no market for fur.  Trapping has all but disappeared in North America and I am of the opinion that this single instance has led to the explosion of the coyote population.

If nature turned on man we would stand a chance.
Yes, but man or human beings are capable of reason and higher intelligence.  Our species has been removed from the natural world, not an accurate comparison to a whitetail deer or coyote.

Gobble!

That was amazing. I have always enjoyed watching nature at its meanest.

Hard to watch, but it is just nature at work. The people I would like to see this are the anti's who think we are cruel because we hunt. They just don't have a clue as to how things really work in the natural world.

I have enough weapons and ammo stashed to even my odds.

Ive seen that link of the slide all over the internet the last few weeks . Deer and deer hunting, facebook, a bunch of forums. That thing is viral. Takes about 10 minutes to watch the slide. Looks like the coyotes just flat wore him out.
