I hunt on our family farm and I sit looking into a tamrack swamp and also over looking a large yellow grass swamp which I can see across and is about 600 yds across. I got into my stand Sunday morning around 620am and at about 7 am this buck come across the yelllow grass swamp trailing 2 does. For whatever reason when the deer hit the tamrack swamp line the does turned around and went back the way they had come from so I was able to get him in the scope of my .338 and put a lead on him and with one shot he disappeared, I watched the area for 15 min. to be sure but no site of him. It was a long shot he was about 280yds when I took the shot about as long as I like to take, I have taken deer on several occasions up to this range but this is about the farthest. I had him aged this morning and he was at least 5 1/2 years old the biologist said and he green scored 153 3/8" gross hard to see in the pic but his first mass measurement was 61/4" and the other side was 6 1/2". My best buck to date,
