10-22 Killin'

Started out as a cold hunt this AM as I headed to a spot not far from the house......No stand here as I just acquired the land not 1 month ago so I decided to just sit on top one of the wind rows left by the logging crew that clean cut this piece of property. Started cracking daylight not long I seen a deer out in front of my @ 80 yards moving through the dog finnels,looked small and offered no shot...there is one big Oak left in this cut-over @150 yards with overhanging branches and I notice the lower limbs shaking violently and think thats to much for a tree rat so I look through the scope and all I can see is his horns in the tree shaking back and forth,safety is off waiting for a shot,and the he steps to the side and I see the top of the shoulder and squeeze off a round dropping him right in his scrape.....Walking to him another deer comes crashing through the cut-over straight at me and I pile him up as well. Go and get the boy which woke up with no problem to see Daddy's kills from the morning hunt.Great morning and good times! 202# 8pt 18inches

Nice Job!!  I thought this was about a nut with a Ruger 10-22 shooting deer. Glad to see it wasn't.

Right.  I'm glad  he was referring to the date . I'm not sure if its legal to shoot deer with a 22 cal.
