A Savage Axis, chambered in a .243. Haven't checked accuracy yet, wind was blowing at a high rate and was all over the place. I just wanted to break the barrel with 10 shots. I will test accuracy tommorrow if the weather is better.

It is equipped with a home made bipod on it.

Gold Spur

That's a sweet looking rig. Look forward to seeing how she groups... :icon_thumright:
Woo Pig Sooie!!!

redarrow

Nice. Looks like it loads on the right and ejects out the left ??

Hognutz

Nice rig you got there. Nice caliber, as well.
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?
If attacked by a mob of clowns, go for the juggler.

Very nice. Put the bipod on the stock, not the barrel. It may cause poor
grouping if it is on the barrel.

John

+1. It will almost certainly change point of impact when you shoot with or without the bipod.

ILIKEHEVI-13

Nice looking rifle.  Those button rifle Savage barrels are some of the most accurate production barrels made.  Tehy will typically out shoot rifles costing a lot more.

Hey guys thanks for pointing that out. Someone pointed it out to me last night, so I took the bipod off.

Redarrow, it ejects from the right. It has a detachable magazine that holds 4+1

Savage makes one hell of a rifle for the money!     I have a Savage 12 FV chambered in .22-250 and that thing is a tack driver.

They make one that will fit on the stock.  If you play with the shell you will have a bad boy.  Try every brand you can find.  I have one and it like the winchester USA from walmart.  It will group it better then any other shell other then hand loads.
Tell us just how dead do you want them to be and we will see if we can get that for you.

awesome.. Thanks for the advice.  If weather is decent tomoro I'll be out shooting. I also went to walmart and bought a bipod that mounts to the sling stud. seems to work fine

Groups were not what I wanted, but the trigger was HARSH. getting 3" groups at 100 yards, with cheap federal ammo... Clipped a coil off the spring, pull is where I want it.

It was so tight that I was pulling off target trying to pullthe trigger. Pull is probably around 2 pounds now.
