Hey Guys, I need a sight for my granddaughters 20ga. youth model. Whats my options and should I just go with the fiber optic single sight at the end of the barrel? She has a bit of a problem using the scope on my Ruger 10/22 so I think I'll just keep it simple. It has the small factory bead and I even have problems with that. So whats a good simple sight system for a first year shooter? Oh, its a Winchester 1300 youth 20ga. Thanks for any info, Crappiepro

If the gun shoots POA to POI, I think the single bead would be the way to go. Far less can go wrong in that instance.
The other option in a red dot/holo sight option. That way all she has to do is put the dot on the neck, and pull the trigger.

i put a burris ff ll on grand daughters 12 ga. match gun. she is doing great with it.

If you open the pattern up a little with less choke, it will likely do wonders for eliminating first time misses at short ranges.

Maybe a standard XFull with HTL shells?

it's not the harvest,it's the chase

well I guess the sights may have to be put on hold LOL. I can't get her to shot it!! I told her she has to learn to shoot it and get comfortable with it but she just can't pull the trigger. If she drags her feet too long, PaPaw may have a new shotgun LOL. She just smiles and says " I affraid its gonna be loud" LOL. whata ya gonna do?  :angry9:

LOW brass light shells and ear muffs.  Let her sit in your lap when she shoots it (btween your knees).  Show her it is not to loud while wearing hearing protection.
