Mn early goose opening weekend

gotta do something between turkey seasons

had a good opener weekend.  shot birds every day.  should have done alot better saturday but other hunters made birds difficult to get into range.

sunday and monday we hunting a pasture that was lights out.  shot our 2 man limit in an hour from 9-10 when the birds were coming back from feeding.
monday we had several flocks work us really hard but with absolutely zero wind it was difficult to line them up.

Our early goose season started last thursday. Havent got to go any. It just sucks for me.

wow those are some dirty bands,  where were those birds roosting?  12 bands in 2 days is on hell of a weekend.  3 years ago i had a similar weekend
09 opening day we managed 12 bands.

Roosting in hay meadows just a mile or two away from the lake where they were banded. I haven't figured out what caused the color.

Very nice, haven't made it out to hunt the residents this year yet. Standard resident goose hunting clothes in Alabama; Shorts, camo shirt, flip flops, sun glasses, and sun screen.
