Would anyone know if a singleshot H&R/NEF fixed Mod. can be drilled for removable chokes. I have a neet project in mind. I will probably call Carlsons and check but thought I would ask. Would prefer RemChokes.

My gunsmith said my NEF modified was not thick enough at the length I wanted the barrel. I ended up ordering a turkey barrel from New England. It is a 3-1/2", and 2 oz turkey loads will thump you to put it mildly. Sometimes after patterning it, it takes a few seconds to remember what I was doing. With a kicks 0.660 i have never seen a gun that will pattern #6 lead as well. I carry it sometimes when hiking in the mountains b/c it is so light. I know what it will do and I don't ever care to pattern it on paper again.

If you have away to check the OD of the barrel it needs to be .850 then you can run win or rem chokes in it.

What about a NEF 20 gauge Fixed Full Choke? What would the barrel dia.need the be for a REM Choke tap? Thanks, Mike

I know I can get one of these 24 inches and factory threaded for Invector which would be alright but I was thinking about a 28 inch,with a comfy TH stock and cushy recoil pad,drilled and tapped for a scope base.

My gunsmith cut mine down to 24" and installed Win-choke.

Check with Colonial Arms in Alabama,after speaking with several gunsmiths they seemed to be more confident on what could or could not be done.Mine was a full,20 gauge threaded to remchoke.I had the gun back in less than 2 weeks including shipping.Keep in mind most are going to say"why are you doing all that to a 100.00 gun"believe it or not that was an obstacle.Gobbler Guns in Georgia also was very helpful and agreed it could be done.The "leader"in the industry felt there was not enough thickness to do a remchoke but could do it threads to match their chokes.
