Long box

I have some long boxes but I really have never hunted with them, but I plan on using one this fall ...

I have a couple of Roger Parks long boxes with aluminum lids that are really special with leather holsters.


Do any of you use one of Roger's long boxes with the aluminum lid? I also have one of his short handle boxes with an aluminum lid.

I have a Frank Kochenderfer Black Walnut long box with an aluminum lid that runs awesome.

Yes, from what I've heard he makes a good one ... It's amazing just how good they sound with those alum lids

I carry a Marlin Watkins chatki viga over black limba long box and a Watkins macassar ebony over butternut fiddle box on every hunt. Both calls are top notch in my opinion, and I have called in a lot of turkeys with those calls. I always have a mouth call in my mouth, and also carry a Buster Halford persimmon red slate. Just depends on the morning as to which friction call I pull out to try first.
