Can you use a cellular Trail camera to take photos and video if you Don't want to receive pictures and videos back to your cell phone?  Without a data plan

Just use it like a regular trail camera ....

This is for those who use trail cameras.

This is not a bashing post to use against people who use trail cameras, so move on if you want to bash people for using them and start your own post... thanks

Tactacam Reveals will. Can connect to the camera via WiFi to setup the camera before putting it out. I've cancelled plans while the cameras were still in the field and they continued to record as normal.

Most of them should allow you to do this. I know the Tactacam Reveals do. I have used them in this manner when I am in a place with no cell service.

Have a Browning cell camera that I just downloaded 4000 pictures from, so glad I dont have it running up cell bills all the time. Only use it for SD card pictures most of the time, cell plans can get expensive. The plan I did use only sent low quality pictures thru cell service, still had to look at cards for better pictures.

As long as it has a sd card you're good to go.

Do your research though. Not all cameras are created equally

Not to steal the thread but I liked the old cameras with sd card then put card in my digital camera to read. As I understand it their not made
that way anymore. Haven't  used them since.

The ones I have all use SD cards ... Including the new cell trail camera I just got ...

I just bought 3 of the Tactacam Reveals on the recommendation of a friend. He set them up for me Friday and am receiving pictures hourly. I asked him the same question since I really didn't need the cell option all Summer. He assured me that they would work the same as a regular trail camera. I may however, use them as security measures around my farms.

The Spypoints have an option to turn the cellular off. I assume most others do as well.
