Our buddy Tim Bullock is safe, but the area he lives in was hit very hard. I know there are others here probably that I am unaware of. They all need our thoughts and prayers and help if you can.

I noticed on the videos and pics that a lot of structures were built very near the rivers.  Bridges not build very high off the water.  I'm guess these areas don't see much flooding?
Of course this event was off the charts, but in more normal, but wet years, do they see much flooding?

And prayers for those hit so hard by this brutal storm.

They are not in a flood plain.Flood is not normal in Western North Carolina.We are high above sea level.Ive seen minor flooding but never anything close to this in 52 years. I talked to Tim yesterday, he's working on cleaning up. Sounded good and positive. Please keep the people in the mountains in your prayers along with everyone that was impacted and donate to legitimate charities if you can.A very lot of people have lost everything.

Eastern Tennessee has been hit hard as well.  Lives lost, bridges and roads destroyed.  Communities have been cut off due to washed out bridges and roads.  Southwest Virginia has had over 15 inches of rain with trees down and creeks and rivers flooded causing flooded and washed out roads and down trees.  Not as bad as East Tenn and Western NC though.

I'm in southwest Virginia and I just got my power back yesterday (Thursday 10/3). A crew from Oklahoma got us back up and running. I was merely inconvenienced, pray and help where you can for those who have suffered substantial loss.
