Guys,

I have a rriend of mine who's daughter is gonna take up turkey hunting. She is a small framed girl, and I'm afraid a 3" hot lead shell would be too much.
If you guys were taking a young girl hunting, what shell would you use?

without a question......Winchester XX(red shell) 2-3/4" 1-5/8oz #5's or 6's
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

:agreed: or some old Federal Premium Grand Slam 1 1/2 or 1 5/8 oz 6's, if you can find them.  I still have a box from when I used 2 3/4" shells.

That is a really good load. Having her hunt with a relatively light gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun would also be a plus in dampening recoil.

If it is a 20 gauge you can get the box of 25 in Winchester or Remington
in a 2 3/4-1 1/8-#6 load and the right choke and do well out to 30 yards.
The Truglo GSE 565 likes #5s about as well as any choke I know and that is available as well.
