I was thinking about getting a swamp fox king layer red dot I have a Redfeild ace now just wonting to up grade just wondering if any of you guys are using any of them and your thoughts about them.

Big Jeremy

I have a couple of them. Love em. Keep zero, really small, and easy access to batteries, among other pros. I haven't found a single negative about them after using them for three seasons.

Thanks I appreciate the info

I have used the kingslayer for two years. So far, so good. It doesn't have some of the features of some of the higher end red dots such as the shake awake and automatic dimming. I don't turn my dot on until I am actually set up on a turkey so those features don't really matter to me. I adjust the brightness when I turn it on.

Swamp fox doesn't offer the Kingslayer anymore, if you get one it will have to come off eBay ....  or somewhere else...

i own a couple holosuns, a sig romeo5, vortex spitfire, a kingslayer, and have owned bushnells and truglo in the past.  the only one that I wouldn't hunt with is the kingslayer.

Tell us why you wouldn't hunt with the Kingslayer ........

I have 3 of the Swampfox  kingslayers two green circle dots and one red dot. They are great! Hold zero and so easy to access the battery. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase any of the Swampfox products.

I agree, I have 3 of the Kingslayers and they are great dots for the money....

Tail Feathers

Mine worked as it should last season.  Not sure I would get another circle dot, lots of light coming back at your eye.  But they work and the company is nice to deal with.  I like their guarantee.
Love to hunt the King of Spring!

because they turn themselves off at the 4 hour mark and requires physical intervention to turn it back on.  For me, that is about the worst attribute a hunting sight could have.

I happened to purchase mine when they launched, and at the time of launch swampfox advertised that they turned off at the 4 hour mark IF movement wasn't detected or no buttons pushed.  It wasn't advertised as shake awake, but that it detected movement to keep it on.  That would be reasonable.  That was not the case and when I contacted them about it they just changed the information on the website and stated that the site was functioning as intended.   If you like the site, great.  I don't, and I have one that is in like new condition that is a paperweight, I 'll sell it to you cheap.
