After he had sent me the sound files, we were discussing what I liked and disliked and he said he had one more available - this ironwood over butternut. When I got it in it says bloodwood over butternut. His response was he fixed the call with the different lid but forgot to relabel!

We were talking on the phone and he just said Wait a minute, how about this one. Played it over the phone and that was it for me. You also have an equally good one. I wanted one that had all the sounds from hen, Jake, and gobbler.

Steve told me he got 5 with that call this year.

I was able to get one of Steve Mann's personal long boxes.  It was a cedar over poplar that he made in 2021.  He and I have called up multiple turkeys with that call since that time.  I think he still regrets giving up that call.

That's awesome he was like I probably should stop selling my personal calls. The one I got was a cedar/butternut it was the only long box that didn't sell at NTWF this year so he decided to keep it and hunt with it. Definitely performed well for him.
It's a safe bet that he'd be able to use any call he builds and he'll have great success with it.
