I just read Rick Larson's book The Calling. This is not a book about how to hunt or make calls or any thing like that. It is a book by some one who loves the outdoors and hunting and fishing. Most of the story's are written in the form of a poem,and I think Rick did a great job with this book. I highly recommend it. Contact Rick at critter1017@gmail.com.

I liked it as well, he is a nice fella. Some may know him from his poems being featured in Earl Mickel's books.

When i lived in Iowa i would always stop by Hoot's cabin in Waterville. He had a turkey contest and you could bring your bird by and he would weight and measure it as well. Great memories!!!
