Folks I just wanted to give a shout out to my buddy Mark Mueller for hooking me up with one his sassafras slate over glass calls with a locust wood striker.  This thing is smokin'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It has great tone, rolls over beautifully on the yelps, cutts and cackles are sharp, clucks and purrs with the best of em and will even kee kee.  If you want a great instrument for sounding real and killing gobblers give him a shout...

I agree with you.... I purchased a walnut slate/glass pot and It ranks right up there with some of the best sounding slates that I have purchased.... and I will be getting another.... a very good sound...
