Opening morn in North ga started out with heavy thunderstorms so I didn't get in the woods until a little before 9 am. I heard a gobbler 3 or 4 times but he was way off on private land. I stayed till noon and called it. This eve we are expecting very high winds upward in the 20mph with heaver gusts.
Im thinking if I was a turkey I would be roosting as low as possible. Its looking like a very nice calm Sunday morning so that's a plus.
Just wondering you guys thoughts on how the weather effects roost locations.

My money would be roosting low on the downwind side. You might want to go give it a listen this evening and see if you can hear one.

Hopefully you went to the woods this evening and did your best to listen. Later, experience will tell you.

I went but the wind was gusting 30 + mph I didn't hear anything.
Ill be setting up in the morn anyway. its a good place so Im very hopeful. theres lots of fresh sign and I saw some good birds there while i was deer hunting.
