Is there any chance that an average Joe without thousands of dollars to spend, can go to the banquet in Nashville and buy a reasonably priced print, etc. or is this banquet for deep pockets only? I'm going next year but if it's a rich mans banquet, I don't need to go.

Hate to say it , but I would not count on it. You could always take out a second mortgage and play with them.

You would probably have better luck at a local Sate Chapter in getting a print ...  IMO

I don't know about a print at the banquet but as for a trip to the convention I went to my first one this year. Actually in airport right now heading home. And it was a great trip tons of stuff to do for little to know expense. You can watch calling competitions for days. Met some great people. Over all great trip. Went for 5 days.  I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Not sure what a print is honestly, but if your looking for a good weekend and reasonably priced turkey calls I'd go to Unicoi. I went for my first time this year and planning to try an make the trip every year now if I'm able. Great guys all around, callmakers and guys looking to buy, Helen is a really cool little town as well so I highly recommend it, but to be fair never been to the convention.

Went to the convention one year and most likely will never go back. Had a good time but not a crowd person. Elbow to elbow and hard getting up to some tables next to impossible. You had many guys walking around with those multi color pro bass fisherman shirts advertising calls , shells and gear with sponsor names everywhere and that just doesn't fit into my idea of turkey hunting. I love turkeys , turkey hunting and turkey calls. It's just way commercial wide for me. I understand that it is ultimately about generating cash and it does that well. Unicoi has been my yearly trip. I enjoy that very much. It's too far and costly to catch both shows so it's Unicoi for me and the good lord willing for years to come. I hope Unicoi continues to grow but hope it doesn't turn into a baby NWTF Convention. Just my personal opinion.

That's why it was nice being there for 5 days Thursday and Friday night I could walk around with place all to myself. Could talk to anyone you want.

Do you think that a Thursday and Friday will be enough time to see and experience everything?

My state representative gave me a ticket one year.  Couldn't afford any thing and didn't win anything.  Felt kind of out of place but I would go again just at the chance of winning something.  You never know.

More then likely. All depends on if there are any special events that you want to see. The Grand National seniors finals are on saturday so you would miss that. there are other things to see Thursday and friday. Im sure you can get a show schedule before hand so you can make sure you see what you want.

Unicoi is and will always be about custom call making, and as long as Mark puts it on it will not change.

I'm sure the convention is fun, but I can't see myself burning vacation days to attend.  I like to save vacation days for actual hunting and fishing.  I can get anything I need for turkey hunting online.

And to be honest, I have bought so much stuff over the years that I really don't "need" anything.
