I shoot at 5 yards with a red dot or a scope. So much easier to make POA/POI adjustments. Then I back up to 35 or 40 yards. Initial load is field loads and final is TSS/Nitro/Foxtrot or Apex. With bead only, I shoot at 16 yards to check POA/POI. This pattern regimen has always worked for me.
I also polish my barrels, even chrome lined. I know that some say don't polish a chrome line barrel but I have done it with much success. Patterns don't lie. Brownell's even sells a chrome line barrel polisher. Works for me. I really like the flex hone kit as far as polishing goes. It has not been my experience that "a dirty barrel shoots just as good". Even though there days I rarely count the "10". I just want great patterns.
Have a good one and May God bless, Bo
