I'm going to be flying into SD to go on a Montana hunt but figured I'd add another few days of hunting by possibly hitting one of the two big Reservations while out there. I looked into it years ago and know you have to hired a guide and by reservation tags but was hoping to get more current information from someone in the know. If anyone has been in the past free seasons could you plz send me a message ? I'm not looking for someone honey hole . I'm just needing general info on where folks stayed and what their experience was.

Thx Brian

I looked into it earlier this year.  It's not cheap.  The guy I talked to seemed to have his act together but it's a $2K hunt with lodging.  Others may be cheaper.  Due to COVID, the rule this spring was visitors/hunters can't stay on the reservation and have to find accomodations off res.  You have to have a tribal member guide.  Got to wear masks in the truck with the guide and anywhere on the res you are in close proximity to others.
Love to hunt the King of Spring!

That would stop me from going at all.
