Well team, the season is over and we had a great run at it.

I must say that keeping track of our progress was fairly easy but ya'll deserve the credit. You guys really put up some good pics and calculated your own scores.

Other captains had told me before the contest that I would have to stay on everybody to keep pace with the team, and that getting people to post good pictures was going to be a pain, but I found that to be far from what we had going here as a team. Great job.

We had a lot of guys that filled their seasons worth of tags, guys that killed a bunch of birds in several different states, and guys that hunted their hardest and never got on a bird.....either way, your efforts are what made us a team. There are some true to life turkey thugs on this team.

The only issue I saw that could be improved on for next year was getting the base of the beard to show up a little better in some pics, but this paticular photo was the arch nemesis of everybody on almost every team this year, and it cost a few people on other teams to lose credit for their pics. We may have had 1 or 2 photos that could have been questioned, but they were still a pic that could clearly let the viewer see that the beard was attatched and nobody was trying to fudge on their score.

We did a have a few guys that decided not to participate with the team, even after saying they would be here come hell or high water......for that, I am sorry. I probably could have done a better job of weeding out dead-beats, but it was hard to know what people were really going to do with it and post counts were hard to clarify due to the board crashing and everybody trying to come back on-line as the contest was just getting started.

I have alraedy submitted a few suggestions for next year and do think that low count posting and activity on the board in total should be taken in more consideration. It hurt us this year.

It was a pure pleasure to be on a team with this group of guys. You all had fun, stayed safe and played as a team and that's all we asked you to do and it was done in grand fashion. Great job team.

Great post BowBendr and glad to have ya as capt.

Oops.  I take it the seven raised some questions?  Should have said something about it, I had 2 cameras full of pictures I was bound to have something better.  Hell I'd of drug him out of the freezer for a redo if the pics weren't adequate.   I can say it wasn't easy trying to get all those beards to show in one pic.

Big thanks to the guys who stuck around all season birds or no birds. Its the guys that sign up just to go MIA that have killed the God's of Thunder every year.

Is it duck season yet?

Nah, I don't think the 7 bearded bird raised many doubters, they were too awe-struck by the beast.....but.....if we were closer to the top you can bet your grannys house we'd a had to come up with DNA from each beard and a team from each of the 6 different CSI tv shows.....just pickin'............. ;D ;D ;D ;D

...it was just that so many guys from so many teams had real trouble getting that base of the beard shown clearly and include the tape measure showing the overall length clearly. But we did pretty good, we have some excellent photographers on this team. There were very few photos that I would have personally questioned.

I'm just impressed at how you guys went out and just put a whoopin' on birds. Good hunters.  :jackson:

Yeah it seems like every year we do good but have a few who start out talking good but the go MIA which kills our chances.

Oh well, a good time none the less.

Thanks for all your help Scott. Sorry I didnt come through for us. Kind of a freek deal for me. Definitly goes down in the books as my worst year EVER! Thanks again bud :icon_thumright:

Creekrocket, it happens to us all.  If you hunt long enough your going to have those years that just kick your tail but hopefully next year will be better.

Scott, you were excellent in your execution as captain. I only wished I was successful and had at least something to donate to the team's effort....maybe next season, again thanks for being our Captain...pappy

I wasn't as active later in the season but I was still able to put up a score... I wish I would've been able to check in here more often.

Thanks for time while I was here   :happy0064:
