Carburator Cleaner for Chokes??

For those cleaning their chokes with carburator cleaner, is there a specific brand you would recommend? Is there anything better than carb cleaner for this and do you just use it to scrub the choke with a brass brush?

What about oven cleaner? Does anyone know if you can use this to clean them also.

Personally, I've never used Carb cleaner.  Brake cleaner is my preferred method.  Brake cleaner will dissolve the plastic residue and with a good scrub with a bore brush, the choke can be cleaned, lubed and back in the gun in several minutes.  My 2 cents.

I've never had a preference or had a problem with any brake cleaner.  Since most chokes are machined from 17-7ph stainless steel and then plated you shouldn't have a problem.  The brake cleaner evaporates so quickly, removes plastic and removes grease and oil, make sure you use a good amount of choke lube on the threads after cleaning.
