Curious as to why you'd be opposed if all the money went to turkey conservation/research?

I was just responding to the idea of a federal stamp. Throwing money to the government to solve a problem
just makes it more expensive to solve. And they have a vested interest in never solving it, so they can keep raising
the fee to purchase the stamp, to keep the money coming in to be wasted on everything but what the money is supposed
to go to.Have you followed the cost increase of duck stamps over the last 35 years? I am all for funding for wildlife if the money
is used wisely, sadly it often is not. I have seen big cost increases in my own state, as well as a decrease in hunting opportunities.
I am not seeing a beneficial cost vs result, at least not where i hunt, and this does not mean strictly turkey, but waterfowl as well.

Absolute truth. I agree. Keep the Feds out of it. Keep all politicians out of hunting, period.
For example, I've been hunting SC for 15 years. The politicians there overrule the biologists, and set up rules not to help turkeys, but instead to screw non-residents and raise the costs of hunting there.

Also, I don't care to contribute to Mossy Oak, Realtree, etc. They're just like the big name "conservation" organizations like DU & NWTF. They expect the little guys to contribute big $$$ to fund the salaries of the CEO, who in turn spend big money for private turkey hunting operations run by elite millionaires. All you have to do is watch the TV shows about DU, NWTF and other orgs.
Yes, I know the fat cats do donate the scraps off the table to public land projects. But the majority of money donated by the ordinary people, go to private projects for the wealthy.
I used to be all about these orgs when I was younger, but when I started researching where the money goes, and watching their elitist TV shows I stopped supporting these cash cow organizations.

     Absolutely agree. So I'm suppose to trust corporate America with my donations? All the money goes to conservation/research? Yeah, right. Sorry I've lived a life with my eyes open and my brain functioning.
     And as far as collector's value only IF they stop printing it but of course that's at their discretion. They say limited edition but who's limiting it? I would'nt count on it because there's no incentive to limit money donations.
     Sorry, but it's probably a marketing gimmick to call it "limited edition." On the positive side it is a nice looking stamp.

Same for me. I belonged to a few nationally known orgs, but after i saw how they treated the
local branches that did all the fundraising, then didn't get any benefits from doing so, really soured
my opinion of them and i  no longer belong. Not condemning all of them 100%, but a lot of money raised locally went to fund private projects in other states, places members are never going to be allowed to hunt. This has been a common theme with some of them, as witnessed by many threads on the subject on many outdoor forums. Certainly not against M.O. for trying to do something positive, or hunters that want to contribute, but i am wary of anyone that wants my dime anymore.

I agree with everything that has been said. But if it helps even a little I'll continue to donate funds. Add it all up and it's probably only a $200 or so a year between different turkey organizations I donate to. $200 is not gonna make or break me.

I encourage everyone who is skeptical to listen to the latest episode of "The Turkey Hunter Podcast," where Daniel Haas, one of Toxey's sons, addresses a lot of the concerns mentioned here. I understand skepticism, and I don't know them personally, but the Haas family and Mossy Oak seem like genuine people. They have a very obvious respect for the wild turkey, and have done more to help them than most.

I would tend to trust the folks at Mossy Oak, Toxey and crew have always portrayed themselves as true stewards of the land.
