What happened to Ol' Tom turkey apparel?

I bought an Ol' Tom vestless button-up shirt a few years back and loved it.  I carry several pot calls/mouth calls and the shirt pockets were well thought out and plentiful.  I specifically feel this shirt shines when I need to ditch my vest to make a move on a bird.  So I was looking for a new shirt this year and found a 2.0 version of the original vestless shirt.  I made the purchase and when it came in, I noticed the pockets of the shirt were drastically changed.  No more magnetic closures, reduced pot call padded slots & locator lanyards, velcro has been added and the price was the same.  I was pretty disappointed with what I got for $75 so I returned it.  Also noticed the original vestless shirt option has been discontinued. The option for a go between in carrying a vest loaded to the gills and a fairly minimalist shirt option seems to be no more.

I know everything in the entire world is more expensive now and generally speaking, you get less for the same $, but this still bums me out.  For those who were disappointed like me, what shirts are you turning to now?

It is a shame to hear that Raven,
As with anything these days it appears things just aren't made "like they used to be" whether that be 25 years ago, or 4 years ago. I will keep this in mind, I just got the new Ol Tom Gunslinger in the mail and so far think pretty highly of it. The one complaint I'd make is the straps seem a little cheaper made than I had pictured. Thought they'd be more like the Claw brand gunslings I own.

Based on that fact, when I find something I really like I'll buy an extra one. Like the cabela's tactical tatr vest, it's my favorite and I have three of them because I knew they would change the design and/or quality.

sounds more like they abandoned the original concept. could still be a "quality" made shirt. just less functional towards turkey hunting

glad i bought half a dozen of them when they went for clearance prices last year

but i agree. if it's the same shirt, but with less functional features, it shouldn't cost the same

maybe they had to abandon the original features due to supply chain issues?  it just doesn't make sense. the originals are incredible turkey gear. they already have a "casual" line of clothing. keep the hunting gear actual gear
