Mouth call jig

I have been thinking about making some for myself and maybe a few friends,but I don't want to tie to much money in one until I see I like it.Can a homemade one be made,that will get you by for a while,just curious?I have seen that Lil jig ,but does it make   mouth call that sounds pretty good?Any help guys greatly appreciate.I just learning ,hopeful I can save a few bucks.

I was in the same boat as you a few years back. I went with the Lil Jiggy and it does ok. To me is not consistent enough for reed tension.

But I did kill birds with calls I have made on it, so it is ok for the price point.
