Just bought the retay 20 ga. Was wondering what choke tube y'all are using.

I saw some videos on YouTube using the Indian Creek chokes in them and they seemed to pattern well. These were all 12 gauge though. And I saw one with the Jebs Headhunter in .665 constriction it shot decent. I think it might have been choked to tight for the load they were shooting though. Wish I could be more help. But I think a good starting point might be somewhere in the .562-.565 constriction range.

Them guns been out for a few years now.   Seem to be good with something in the 562 range.   We also have the mount that fits the factory drilled holes for the Burris or Vortex.
Tell us just how dead do you want them to be and we will see if we can get that for you.

I bought one of these guns last week. The choke selection seems limited. I bought one of the new Pinhoti chokes from Trulock. I'll probably have William make me one. I really wish they would have made this gun with Benelli Mobil threads. Why did they feel the need to develop yet another thread pattern????

rakkin6

What type of threads are they? Are they proprietary to Retay?

Disregard I found the answer, they are proprietary and only trulock makes them. I was actually looking at the Masai Mara but this is a deal breaker for me. Scratch that one off the list. Now it's down to a Franchi 3.5 or Benelli M2. The savage 212 turkey has peaked my interest also.

Yes. It's a new thread they developed.

After some research Sumtoy, Jebs and I think IC makes chokes for them.

rakkin6

Okay I will check it out. I just read an article that said Trulock made them. It was from last year so things may have changed. I love Sumtoy but hate being limited on my options. Not really a Trulock guy myself

I've owned about every choke out there except Trulock. I will say the new ported one looks nice. I'll shoot it this week hopefully.
As far as the gun if feels and aims great. Seems to have great balance. The trigger is pretty crisp.

I thought I read somewhere that the Crio Plus tubes fit but I could be wrong.

You are correct. In some of their other guns they used the crio plus.

The 20 guage is crio plus, there are tons of chokes for them, the 12 guage are Retay and doesn't have as many

My new 20 gauge isn't crio. It's the new Retay threads.
