870 28ga stock replacement??

Anyone that has this particular gun know if the 28ga stocks are specific or can they be substituted with maybe a 20ga versions? Looking for possibly a synthetic version for my 28. Thanks..

I am confident the 20 gauge stock will work on the 28 gauge 870. I recently purchased an 870 20 gauge youth composite stock on eBay for my new .410 TSS 870 and it fit perfectly. The older "large frame" 20 gauge stocks will NOT fit. The newer "small frame" 20 gauge and the .410 have a receiver thickness of 1-1/4". I assume the same is true of the 28 gauge.

I have a new take off laminated from a 20 gauge stock and forend with all hardware if you don't find a synthetic. $100 + $18 shipping and 3% PayPal...I can't get pictures to load but you can PM me and I can text you some....I believe the stock will work but not forend. Several wood forends for 28 gauge on eBay...
