Made myself a call it's black walnut slate over glass and some tungsten 20ga as well as picked up some jlh strikers. Edited with a better picture below.

Good for you! I hope you kill a longbeard with that call this spring.

The pic is very small.  But it looks like a very nicely figured piece of walnut.

I never made very many friction calls.  Probably less than 50.  But most were walnut slate-over-glass.  And the nicer the figure, the harder the wood was to work out nicely, BUT the better it sounded.

You should have you a winner right there !!!!    :icon_thumright:

Wanna see pics with that call laying on feathers, brother !!!!

The good Lord ain't made a gobbler I can't kill.  I just gotta be there at the right time.....  on the day he wants to die.

Thanks y'all it was my first call my buddy just bought a small laser for wood so we tried it out the skull came out nice but the turkey tracks kind of burned in. As for the wood it turned out to be a very nice piece the tru oil really brought out the figure. I'm sorry about the small pic I couldn't really figure out how to get one to post.

I'll try adding another picture to see if this one is better
