Thanks guys. I am really happy. After 14 years of hunting on the family property I finally got a good one. I've passed a few and have put a few friends and youths on good Bucks. So it was my turn. We had him on camera since late Sept. Only got him on camera once during legal hours all the other times were during the night. They don't get this old by being stupid. My friends and I were keeping him under our hats but there's never a secret turned out everyone around knew he was around. LOL An older man on the property next to mine saw him but couldn't get the gun on him. Turned out there was about 8 of us looking for him. I caught him slipping through the woods right at sunset. Shot him about 2 minutes past sunset. Probably from start to finish it was less then a minute. I think I had controlled freaking out before the shot. Really happened so fast I think that helped. I had time to get ready had a perfect opening directly in front of the stand got the gun up he stepped out from behind a tree stopped was looking around the clearing and all I looked at was center shoulder and tried to squeeze the trigger. When it broke it was on the shoulder. Doubled lung him. Heard him crashing through the brush. After the shot was shaking like a leaf in the breeze. Had to sit there for 10 minutes. I killed a doe on this trip and thinking about a mount with him and the doe. Bubba

I have shot several big bucks and each time it happened fast. From the time I saw them until the time of the shot it was less the 5 minutes. The nerves and shakes didn't kick in until after I had shot. I have shot several other nice bucks and had to wait for the shot opportunity. By the time I released the arrow I was shaking pretty good. I prefer it happen fast...much rather shake trying text my bubby telling I killed a good one than shake and almost miss a good one.  ;D

Congrats again on a great deer.!!

Congrats on a great buck, any chance you put tape on him yet, looks like he's close too or might brake 160"? Look forward to seeing him mounted. Congratulations again.

I have to wait 90 day's for it to dry for the certified measure which the DNR has to do. We're all guessing mid 130s. I think the Taxidermist is going to measure and will let me know. Thee was an online app that you can measure the game camera pictures which is probably way off but it measured if I remember right around 133. I've checked the records and he's going to be top 10 and hopefully top 5 for the county. Bubba

Nice one.  Happy you had the name of the processor in the picture.  We haven't found a processor we like so far although we chase turkeys more than deer.  Good luck.

Never mind on the processor.  Too long a drive.  LOL.
