With the temperatures being in the 90's, just think of the awesome patterns one could obtain right now.  That's a hint to get some of you guys to go and show me some killer patterns.   :z-guntootsmiley:

Send a little of that heat up here. Had 5" of snow in the hills yesterday.

It ain't even hot yet either!
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands, love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper; his hands remember the rifle.

Just askin. Why would you want to pattern your gun in 90 degrees when you never hunt at that temp.doesnt it make more sense to know your gun at your hunting temp or somewhere in the middle. I guess for me that would be 50' s although barely got into the 40' s this year.

That's kind of like asking why shoot a load that will allow you to put 300 shot in a 10" vs 150 when 150 will do?  Why drive a Corvette when a Volkswagon will do?  The answer is because you can.

I would be curious to see some patterns in the 90's.  That's all.  The numbers should even be better is all.  No harm in looking now is there!   :z-guntootsmiley:

Hey Brad.... If your so interested in the numbers then why don't go out and fire off about $20 to $30 worth of shells and sweat your backside off for numbers that would be virtually useless and then come back and tell us how you did.

Just saying.....

Brad i gonna shoot ya some patterns soon.  Got some hevi 7s on the way and found some hevi mag blends locally.  Haven't shot them yet and like to collect as much" data" ad I can on my set ups for further info to pass along.  I got the all-mighty star dot choke on the way to assist in my testing as well.   Not really sure where to start with the blends.   From searching, I see around 675 working well.  Not sure if they act like the nitros in the 835...open choke ..or similar to the 7s.  Got several things to try when I get em.

Can't ever know too much about a weapon that you plan to hunt with..be it deer it turkeys.

Now that's the spirit!

.670 to .676 seems to be the ticket in the 835's for the 7's.  And .680 seems to work wel for the 6's.

That Star Dot choke ought to sing.  It's still the best choke overall for the 835 I do believe.
