Flint lock Turkeys

I've been wanting to get in to using a muzzle loading shotgun for more of a challenge, I don't have a clue where to begin. I can't seem to find anywhere that sales one. Can anyone point me in the right direction down this rabbit hole?.

As with everything ammo even muzzleloader components are hard to find now.  I have a Knight TK2000 modern muzzleloader, pictured in my avatar, that is fun to shoot (sorta - it has a recoil to remember).  It's four for four on turkeys.  I once looked hard for a used old style percussion shotgun and never found one.  Good luck. 

Btw - this forum has a muzzleloader section.  Look for it at the bottom of Turkey Guns and Shooting.  Good info.

X2 If things don't work out for a Knight for me I am going to get a kit from them and make my own, there is a woman on one of my Facebook groups that made great looking one and she had had success with that and I am pretty sure she got her stuff from Dixi Gun Works.

Try "Track of the wolf", they have a website, usually have a good selection of used smoothbores/fowlers for sale, also have components

not many of the blackpowder substitutes give reliable ignition in flintlocks, you'll need real blackpowder

I've taken gobblers with both 20 and 12 gauge flintlocks. In addition, I made a "bucket bird" out of a 5-gallon black bucket with fan and wings attached via binder clips. My artistic wife fashioned a head out of a piece of 2x4 which wedged into the bucket's opening. All of the parts were easily carried in the bucket and assembled at the spot. The flintlocks are also fun hunting cottontail rabbits in front of beagles as well as doves.
