Iowa youth opening success

Had some rain last night.  Was unsure of what to expect this morning as it was to be wet, cool, and cloudy.
But we ended up in the right place at the right time.  It was a quick season and we will take it.  There have been some long seasons and tag soup some years.  Not going to complain about a 28 minute season but rather rejoice in a quick hunt.  Strutting and gobbling until he dropped.

Awesome!  I'm not sure what part of the state you're in, but we were down by the MO state line this morning, and the sun peaked out for a bit right at sunrise.  And that was apparently enough for the birds to get fired up.  Gus shot his at about 7am.
