Had a fun hunt this morning. Got into the area I was hunting and had some birds roost gobbling. Figured out where they were and got setup and heard them fly down, in typical turkey fashion they shut up as soon as they hit the ground and didn't come the way I had anticipated. I'd almost given up on them and decided to try a crow call to get them to shock gobble. As soon as I did they blew up about 200 yards to my left not anywhere close to where they flew down. Tried the mouth call again and no response but I figured I'd try a little louder calling, as soon as I really opened up they started hammering. Another 5 minutes goes by and I see the birds coming up the drain to my left and something catches my eye to the right, it was 3 more gobblers coming in silent. Unfortunately for this guy he led the left flock into range first and got his head perforated. Not an upgrade bird but nice none the less. 19 pounds, 9.75 beard, and 1" spurs.
