DIY gun painting pics

For those who have done this, what kind of results did you get (pics please)? 

-What type of paint (oil, latex, acrylic, duracoat)? 

-Did you clear coat?

-durability?

I believe there's a yt video from catman outdoors. Spray paint put on with a sponge and then clear coated. I've had no problems with durability so far

I did my youth 20ga 870 with ShurShot stock last year.

I found this video really helpful.  Catman has been active on the board in the past.  He used the Rust-Oleum Camo paint.

See the pictures below for mine.  It's not nearly as good as his (got too much green and lost my pattern) but it'll work.  I clear coated with some flat Rust-Oleum as well.

Very inexpensive (aka cheap!). Base of Krylon flat spray followed by natural sponge with 50 cent acrylic craft paint / assorted flat colors. No clear coat. No problem with wear (just add more paint if necessary - haven't had to).

I used water-based craft acrylic paint then oversprayed it with a Matte polyurethane. The overspray has lasted very well for about 5 years, but it now is showing a little bit of wear around those spots where I carry it. I will simply touch up these spots with matching acrylic and overspray it again.

Rattle canned my 20 gauge Remington 11-87 Compact last year. 
Used Krylon Camo paints and some sponges.

After taping over the important parts, I sprayed the whole gun khaki.
Then used some sponges and went over gun with progressively darker colors trying to evenly apply colors.
Started with OD green, then brown, then black.  Used the black the least.
A few spots were too dark when I was done, so went back and hit up with the khaki again.

Finished it off with matte finish acrylic clear coat. 
Hunted about 30 days last season and finish is holding up great.

I have an 870 in need of a paint job. Looks like I need some paint and sponges.

What did you guys use to prep your guns for the paint?

Full Choke: Your shotgun is the most realistic and effective camo job over ever seen. I re!ember before on another post you mentioning the reverse shading technique.... Can you please post some more pics of this gun and elaborate on how to do this?
