Best box store pot call for bad weather days?

What do you use in the woods when it's wet and rainy to call in a bird? I've got my nicer calls that I don't want to mess up. I was thinking about picking up a primos power crystal pot call to use on wet rainy days maybe coupled with a cane creek cottonmouth striker....

What calls do y'all use on a rainy day when you want to leave your nice calls in the warm, dry truck? Do you take the wood pot calls and say forget the rain, they are tools to be used whenever and wherever or do you baby them?

I know my box call will stay indoors on bad weather days.

Educate me guys! Thanks!

Rainy days the boxes and pots stay at the truck

I carry a wingbone and a few mouth calls and maybe a cheap primos wetbox call for variety

That's a wet wonder from enticer game calls, you can play either side.

I have a lil deuce slate and lil deuce glass that I carry all the time.  I've called a lot of birds to the grave with a rosewood and hickory striker with them.  For rain,  I have a cheap acrylic type striker that gets used with them.  When it is raining, I either bag my wood calls and strikers or they stay in the truck.

I should get a different striker as I don't like the sound of my current "rainy day" striker but it plays very well wet.  I figure there is always a trade off.  It sounds better than a lot of the hens I've heard so it is probably fine.  I try not to hunt in the rain unless I absolutely have to.

I have a HS Strut Lil deuce glass call and a woods wise wet box I use in the rain. The strikers I use are carbon and acrylic in the rain. I have a primos freaky seat that I keep all my wet weather turkey calls in and I keep it  behind the seat in the truck during turkeys season. My regular calls stay home or in the truck during the rain. I also carry a couple of gallon zip loc bags in my satchel  to put my good calls in , just in case I get caught in the rain.

I carry couple of pot calls: Tru - Tone wet one in corian pot with waterproof striker and purpleheart stiker, Percker Wrecker ceramic with his waterproof striker and couple of yelpers and couple of mouth calls. Sometimes push pin inside zip lock bag just depends on weather.

Al Holbert makes some wet weather calls. Priced reasonably and sound good. Typically I rely on diaphragms and a suction yelper of some sort so I don't worry much about it.

X2 on Al`s calls. I think his pots would play underwater!

Let me edit my reply since I misread the topic:
A good glass or crystal and a good waterproof striker like Gooserbat sells will do you good.  Does Primos still make the power crystal call?
Love to hunt the King of Spring!

I'm another one sold on enticer calls (al Holbert) I like the silver thunder extreme though. He's got a video of running it under a faucet and that actually does work

Mike Yingling (on here) wet weather crystal-I forget what he calls them.  Works and sounds very good.  If it is raining steady, I leave it in the pouch, but once it is just dripping, I am good to go. It may actually run better wet than dry.  Reasonably priced.  Nice looking call.

X2 here, I have the same call. It plays soaking wet. But my best bad weather, rain soaked day Call is a diaphragm mouth call. Nothing affects these....be safe

The Primos power crystal would be my vote for best box store call. I was curious after seeing the kitchen faucet thing and sure enough it plays well with my acrylic striker.

The old Primos aluminum in the green plastic pot that came with a plastic striker, look on E-Bay if you find one they're usually cheap. First bird I killed in the rain was with that call. One time I was using this pot in the rain and a bird came in on my left. I was looking right and he came in running, never saw him there was pine needles carpeting the place and he ran into me. I got bowled over covered in pine needles and he flew off. By the time I got my wits back he was gone. I still have that pot and use it with Al Hobart's Silver Extreme. :OGturkeyhead:
