Well boys, I've given it the best I can for the last two weeks. I've seen one Jake die, pulled in a small flock of jakes on the opener and let them walk.
I got 3 longbeards to the gun for a couple of youth hunters, but couldn't seal the deal. The next week I had a tom circle around me, and go into the woods below.
Tommorow is really my last solo option. After that, I'm back to work and except for the possible day off here and there, and my goal is to get Harrison a bird, even at the expense of my getting one.
I'm not tossing in the towel yet, but I want you all to know where my season stands.

Good luck Hopefully something will jump in front of your gun tomorrow! :anim_25:

The 1st rule of turkey hunting my uncle taught me was that you treat each morning out as if it was your 1st of the season.  Keep a positive attitude and go kill you a turkey as you are destined for success!  :anim_25:

Apologizing:  does not always mean you are wrong and the other person is right.
It just means that you value your relationship more than your ego.

Ok boys, yesterday was a complete bust, having gotten on gobbling birds in the morning only to watch them walk to property that I couldn't hunt.
Today, had a nice tom at 100 yards that wouldn't come over a stone wall in the morning. Once he left with a gang of jakes he's hanging with (strange), I repositioned in another part of the field in front of where he left.
He came back across the field, but was very nervous of my decoy, and skirted the field around 100 yards out.
I couldn't reposition good enough on him, and he was responding to calls, but not coming to them. He eventually dissapeared into the woods.
I can get out for a few hours tommorow, and hunt on Sunday, so we'll see.

It's looking like later. Been a very tough season here.
